How do pediatricians help society

By working to contain potential epidemics, doctors prevent disasters. Individual doctors don't fly solo in these crises. Fighting plagues takes money and organizations that work on a national and international scale. But doctors and other medical professionals are vitally important in the fight. A medical practice is a small business.

Most doctors employ staff and rent or buy office space, pay contractors for repairs and generally improve the community's economic health as they improve their patients' health. For instance in , Illinois had 30, doctors who support , jobs and indirectly support , more. A hospital or medical practice can be an economic driver in towns too small to support most other industries. In the internet age, there's no shortage of medical malarkey flying around online.

Whatever you're suffering from, someone knows a miracle cure. Even the smallest scrapes and bruises can send a parent into a panic.

Knowing they have a well-trained, trusted pediatrician they can call on for everyday illnesses and injuries takes away some of the stress associated with raising children.

In a world where inaccurate information is only a mouse click away, pediatricians have never been more important. According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center, more than 70 percent of internet users said they looked online for medical or health information in Given the explosion of both internet users and websites claiming to be sources of reliable medical information, that percentage has surly grown over the past four years.

From information about vaccinations to food allergies to treatments for the common cold, parents need a steady, reliable source for healthcare information. Thankfully, there are pediatricians to fill that role. They provide information about health, safety, nutrition, fitness needs and development. We have also identified six themes where our definition has further implications: leadership, teams, education, appraisal, careers, and research. The Working Party's definition and description of medical professionalism, and the recommendations arising from them, can be found in Section 5 of this report.

If our recommendations are acted upon, we believe that professionalism could flourish and prosper to the benefit of patients and doctors alike. However, the exercise of medical professionalism is hampered by the political and cultural environment of health, which many doctors consider disabling. The conditions of medical practice are critical determinants for the future of professionalism. We argue that doctors have a responsibility to act according to the values we set out in this report.

Equally, other members of the healthcare team--notably managers--have a reciprocal duty to help create an organisational infrastructure to support doctors in the exercise of their professional responsibilities. Just as the patient-doctor partnership is a pivotal therapeutic relationship in medicine, so the interaction between doctor and manager is central to the delivery of professional care. High-quality care depends on both effective health teams and efficient health organisations.

Professionalism therefore implies multiple commitments--to the patient, to fellow professionals, and to the institution or system within which healthcare is provided, to the extent that the system supports patients collectively. This date coincides with both the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. It reminds us the special contribution made by this legendary physical, who treated thousands and inspired millions of lives, including the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

These doctors are fully capable of dealing with any kind of medical emergencies, and thus, we feel that it is our privilege to be one of the best hospitals in Kolkata. Saving life Mostly this arises during the event for an emergency procedure or an elective procedure for a rather time sensitive or serious illness.

Extending life Unfortunately, not every illness can be cured completely. Improving lives Not every disease threatens the life of the patient.
